Finance Director Climate and Land Use Alliance
Benjamin is the Finance Director at the Climate and Land Use Alliance, bringing more than 20 years of experience across the private, education, and nonprofit sectors. Over the past decade, he has led finance, grants, compliance, and operations for mission-driven organizations working in humanitarian response, international education, conservation, and related fields. His expertise includes financial planning and analysis, budgeting and forecasting, accounting oversight, grant compliance, and financial systems, with a strong focus on helping finance and program teams work effectively toward shared goals.
Before joining CLUA, Benjamin supported financial and grants management across organizations including Zoo New England, SpringsGroup, Groundwork USA, and BranchED. Earlier, he spent six years with the International Research and Exchanges Board (IREX), where he directed financial management, grants administration, and compliance.
Benjamin holds a Master of International Studies, with a concentration in the Middle East and North Africa, and a bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a minor in Middle East Studies, both from North Carolina State University. A lifelong North Carolinian aside from time in Washington, D.C. and short-term assignments in Iraq, he now lives outside Raleigh with his dogs.
