Strategic Communications Manager, Brazil Climate and Land Use Alliance

Lori Regattieri (they/them) is a Strategic Manager at the Strategic Communications Initiative at the Climate and Land Use Alliance (CLUA). They are a public interest technologist working toward a just energy transition and territorial rights for land-connected communities, catalyzing collaboration and building South-South coalitions to address the intersection of climate justice and emerging technologies.

With a background in the philanthropic and nonprofit sectors, they previously served as a senior fellow focused on trustworthy AI at the Mozilla Foundation. Regattieri holds a PhD in Communication and Culture from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), where they defended the thesis “Algorithmization of Life” (2021).

Over the past 15 years, their work has spanned science, technology, and cultural studies, as well as the political economy of emerging technologies, infrastructures, and archives, grounded in reparation epistemologies and decolonial approaches to kinship and world-making. In recognition of their contributions, they received the Media Ecology Association’s 2024 Jacques Ellul Award for Outstanding Media Ecology Activism.
