Andre de Freitas brings over two decades of leadership in sustainability, with deep expertise in multi-stakeholder engagement and private sector collaboration across global land-based supply chains. He currently serves as Executive Director of the Solidaridad Network, driving initiatives that improve lives of small-scale farmers and workers worldwide while tackling critical environmental challenges.

Previously, Andre led the Renova Foundation, coordinating a complex, multi-stakeholder reparation process between the Brazilian government, mining companies, and affected communities, following the Samarco dam disaster. His global impact also includes main executive roles at the Sustainable Agricultural Network and the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), where he shaped policies and certification standards adopted by companies and brands worldwide and the business models of these organizations. Andre’s career also spans direct private sector experience, including serving as Sustainability Manager at Rabobank in São Paulo, and early work with Building and Wood Workers International. He holds a degree in Forestry from the University of São Paulo (USP).
