Uniting the power of people with the potential of forests.
The Climate and Land Use Alliance seeks to realize the potential of forests and land use to mitigate climate change, benefit people, and protect the environment.
What we support
From local civil society organizations to international NGOs, we support those working to change the systems that drive tropical forest destruction and undermine people’s rights and well-being. This includes supporting Indigenous Peoples’, Afro-descendants’, and local communities’ efforts to secure full recognition of their rights to their forest territories, so they can effectively manage their resources for today and for generations to come.
Where we focus
The Alliance focuses its grantmaking in Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Indonesia, Mexico, and Central America. We also support work at the global level to ensure policies and practices halt and reverse forest loss.

Our Teams
Our teams in tropical forest countries support efforts to transform tropical forests into regenerative systems. We focus on justice, equity, ecological health, and resilience. We work toward societies driven by equality, diversity, inclusion, good governance, and economic justice.
