Good Energies Foundation
Johannes serves as the Executive Director of Good Energies Foundation, based in Zug (Switzerland). Good Energies Inc. was established as a private equity and venture capital arm of Cofra Holding AG, investing in the renewable energy and energy-efficiency industries. Good Energies Foundation focuses on the nexus of climate change and poverty alleviation, using equatorial forestry, market-based ecosystem restoration and access to clean energy as its main leverage points.
Currently, Johannes also serves on the Board of World Resources Institute Brazil; on the Board of Arapyaú Institute, a private philanthropy in Brazil; on the Advisory Board of SELCO, a solar-energy enterprise in India; on the Advisory Board of re.green, an enterprise involved in large-scale tropical forest restoration; and on the Advisory Board of the Faith-Aligned Impact Finance Initiative of University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School.
In prior incarnations, Johannes worked as a Vice President at Brazil’s investment bank Bozano, Simonsen, based in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) and New York (United States) and was a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on Forests in Geneva (Switzerland).
Johannes’ academic formation is in moral theology, business ethics and development economics, with graduate studies at the PUC-Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) and holding a Ph.D. from Catholic University of Louvain (Belgium).
