Climate and Land Use Alliance
Ruby is the Forests, People, Climate Program Associate. Prior to joining CLUA, she served as the Resource Development Coordinator with California Rural Water Association, supporting grant programs assisting rural disadvantaged communities. During her field research in Guatemala, Ruby observed local organizations trying to combat deforestation caused by a growing coffee industry; their emphasis on sustainable development and forest conservation really stuck with her.
Ruby holds a Master of Arts in International and Development Economics from the University of San Francisco and a Bachelor of Science in Managerial Economics with a minor in Community Development from the University of California, Davis. In her spare time, Ruby likes to volunteer, bake lopsided treats, and knit wonky wear that is too warm for California. She is based in Sacramento, California.
